The hamlets of Burpham and Wepham are in West Sussex, in the heart of the South Downs National Park

The Village is signposted from the A27.

As you come down the hill towards Arundel from the Lyminster junction, we are the second road on the right after the CrossBush hotel. Burpham is 2.5 miles down a long country Lane. You'll find Warningcamp and Wepham along the way.
Please drive carefully. This is a single track lane in many places with laybys for passing, and it is used by many farm vehicles.

There is a 20mph speed limit in the village.

Walking Routes

Burpham is close to the South Downs Way and is on many walking routes.   It is possible to walk south west to Arundel along the river or north East to South Stoke, North Stoke and Amberley.

Public Transport

There is no public transport into Burpham and Wepham.  

Buses stop at the end of the junction of the lane with the A27 and at Arundel Railway station.

Rail Services

Arundel has good rail links to London Victoria and to Bognor Regis. You can find all rail services here

Parking and phones

Burpham has a free central car park behind the George pub at BBN18 9RR.   

Please note that parking spaces are limited and the car park is frequently full.  A small amount of surplus Parking can be found on the road which goes behind the Church.  Please try not to park along the lane or in the passing laybys,  as this severely restricts access, including that of emergency vehicles. 

Mobile phone signals are scarce and frequently non-existent.  There is a public phone box down the hill along the main street.

Visiting the George

Burpham has a popular country pub, the George, at BN18 9RR.  Tel 01903 883131.   Please note that booking is essential, as the pub can get very full at weekends. 

You should also check opening times: the pub closes for a period in the afternoon and has restricted opening dates in the Winter.
