  1. 2nd February 7:30 in the Village Hall
    Shufffleboard in the Village hall, organized by Heather Birch. Tickets are £12 and include a Fish and Chip supper, bring your own drinks. Please let Heather know ASAP how many tickets you need and what your food choices might be (fishcakes, chicken or sausages). Tickets available from Julie Tester 883053 or Heather Birch 882839
  2. 15th February 7:30 Village Hall
    Burpham and the postcard valley Trail (Village Hall)
    An Illustrated talk by Tony Pratt Local historian Tony will use old postcards and modern video to explore Burpham and nearby villages along the river Arun. Just turn up. Free entry, charitable donation encouraged. If you don't enjoy walking or driving at night, we may be able to arrange a lift - contact Trevor Cooper tc@trevorcooper.net 01903 885349.
  3. 6th February 2- 5 p.m.
    Family History Afternoon: Burpham Country House
    On-line Family History: Research at Burpham Country House, 6th February 2-5.00pm. Jackie Penticost will host an afternoon where you can look up ancestor details, firstly from the 1911 and 1901 censuses, and find sources of free online information. You’ll need to know names, and if possible details of birth and marriage, of your relations. We are nearly full, so please contact Jackie as soon as possible if you wish to attend. A laptop is helpful. You’ll need as much detail of your grandparents or parents as possible to start your tree. Places are free (with tea and cake!), but limited to 8 people at each session.   4. 26th February 2-5 p.m. Burpham Country House
    Village Cookbook: recipe session
    Village Cookbook : recipe session Tuesday 26th February 2-5.00pm. Steve Penticost is planning to publish a village cookbook to sell at the Village Fete on 1st June, profits to charity. He’d like to gather favourite old family recipes, and put them into a small booklet featuring a picture of the yummy food and the recipe provider, together with a family story of why it is so special. He is planning to host a ‘recipe afternoon’ on 26th February 2-5.00pm at Burpham Country House to see what recipes can be provided.     Village Fete breakfast meeting
    Village Fete Breakfast Meeting - Saturday, 9th February 2019, 9.3011.00am in the Village Hall: Our Village Fete is on Saturday, 1st June from 1.00-4.30pm, and this year we would like to get as many of us in the Village involved as we can. We are, therefore holding a Fete breakfast meeting, sausage and bacon baps, croissants - good coffee and tea - please come along and volunteer to run a stall or game, have your own stall, organise an event - we are open to new ideas this year - let's make this year special. Do you, or a family member or friend, have a craft/hobby, play an instrument, etc. - come along and let us know and have a good breakfast at the same time. Heather - 01903 882839

    Six Nations Rugby
    The George: The Six Nations Rugby & Valentine’s Day. The dates of the Six Nations Rugby matches are: Sat 2 Feb at 4.45pm Ireland v England Sun 10 Feb at 3.00pm England v France Sat 23 Feb at 4.45pm Wales v England Sat 9 March at 4.45pm England v Italy Sat 16 March at 5.00pm England v Scotland All live on the big screen. For the village ‘locals’, there will be a special England Rugby deal of a pint and hand held pie or sausage rolls for £5.00. More information at the George.
